Despite its petite stature, the miniature orchid Pleione ‘Formosana’ bears astoundingly showy, eye-catching blooms. With all the exotic appeal of a full-sized orchid, this variety exhibits an ivory, freckled trumpet with a finely frilled edge. The crown is surrounded by a halo of slender, dusky pink petals. This frost-hardy perennial pseudobulb will flourish in a sheltered, lightly shaded position on sharply drained soil. The reliable performance of ‘Formosana’ has earned this plant a coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit.
