Description

Every aspect of canna ‘Wyoming’ offers dazzling decorative appeal – from the flamboyant, ruffled tangerine blooms, to the broad, lush, colourful foliage. Bronze-purple foliage contrasts marvellously against the bold orange blooms and provides interest well beyond the flowering window. This remarkable plant brings an exuberant, jungle-like atmosphere to your garden, whilst being robust enough to withstand the British weather. Such resilience and vigour have earnt this fantastic variety a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. Flowering from August to October and reaching a height of 100cm, ‘Wyoming’ makes a showstopping centrepiece for your late summer borders and containers.

Care Guide

Start rhizomes off in a greenhouse or conservatory in spring, planting outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.

Lay the root horizontally, 5cm deep in a large pot filled with potting compost and keep the soil damp.

In late May or early June, choose a sunny location with well-drained, rich soil.  Plant Cannas 10cm deep and 30-45cm apart.

From July to October, robust stems of exotic, vibrant blooms reach heights of 50-125cm depending on variety.

Shorter cultivars are suitable for pots.

Lift rhizomes in autumn or bring pots undercover for the winter months as tender Cannas do not tolerate freezing temperatures.
