Crinum Cintho Alfa
M6151
Description
The show-stopping blooms of Crinum ‘Cintho Alfa’ boast large, pure white petals, each marked with a bold, central stripe of magenta. In addition to the splendid sight of these magnificent flowers, Crinum will pervade your garden with a powerful, aromatic sweet scent. A joyous extravaganza for your late summer and autumn display, this impressive variety is long-lived and easy to grow. Given a sheltered, sunny position and a thorough mulching in the autumn, these South African natives will return triumphantly each year. The tall, sturdy stems and fragrant blooms make glorious cut flowers.
Care Guide
Requires full sun and a sheltered, south-facing location.
Plant the large bulbs with their necks showing above soil level in well-drained, moisture retentive soil, spacing 45cm apart.
Provide consistent watering, ensuring soil stays moderately damp after planting and throughout the growing season.
Large, trumpet-shaped blooms are produced from July to September on straight, strong stems 75-100cm tall.
Mulch with spent compost or straw during winter and avoid disturbing Crinum bulbs once planted.
