Bring Fragrance, Drama, And Rarity Into Bloom

You, like me, love a garden with personality.

You plant tulips. You trust daffodils. You enjoy lilies. Then one summer morning, a flower opens and stops you mid-step.

Hymenocallis.

Also called the ‘Spider Lily’ and ‘Peruvian Daffodils’, Hymenocallis brings drama without fuss. Long ivory petals stretch like fine porcelain ribbons. A delicate central cup glows in evening light. A heady fragrance drifts across the warm summer air, long after your spring bulbs have bowed out.

NINE of the biggest and best Hymenocallis Bulbs, RRP with postage £47.80, your price whilst stocks last £19.00 with FREE postage – a 60% saving

In this exclusive de Jager collection, you receive:

3 x HYMENOCALLIS Festalis 20/+cm bulbs

Brings a fairy-like delicacy to your floral display. With a heavenly fragrance reminiscent of scented narcissi, this ‘Peruvian Daffodil’ offers a long flowering window throughout the summer. Lacy, ivory-white trumpets are encircled by a distinctive halo of fine, elongated tepals curling back on themselves. Hymenocallis ‘Festalis’ has earned the much-coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit for its excellent performance and dependability. The tall, sturdy stems also make exceptional cut flowers and forced bulbs to savour indoors, filling the room with their irresistible perfume.

3 x HYMENOCALLIS Sulphur Queen 14/16cm bulbs

The sherbet-yellow blooms of Hymenocallis ‘Sulphur Queen’ will bring a zesty freshness to your garden, offering infinite charm with their fascinating form and captivating fragrance. The lightly feathered, flared, trumpet-shaped corolla is surrounded by slender, starry tepals. The petite blooms deliver a powerful, citrus scent, adding to their charismatic appeal. Hymenocallis ‘Sulphur Queen’ has been granted an RHS Award of Garden Merit for vigour and superior performance.

3 x HYMENOCALLIS Harrisiana 14/+ cm bulbs

This unique variety features wispy, stranded segments emanating from a small central trumpet, crowned by thread-like filaments. Hymenocallis 'Harrisiana'  slender flowers waft above dark green, strap-like foliage. Beyond their fanciful appearance, this ‘Spider Lily’ delivers incredible scent – like a citrus-laced Lily of the Valley. The delicate, spindly blooms are a novel addition to containers and the front of borders, to be admired up close. Offer some winter protection to ensure a repeat performance year after year

In our British gardens, these beauties thrive in sunny borders, large pots, or a sheltered patio. Plant in well-drained soil after frost. Feed lightly. Water during growth. Lift in colder regions in the winter or mulch well in mild areas. Simple care. Remarkable reward.

I recall reading a  garden designer once describing Hymenocallis as “a plant people ask about.” Neighbours pause. Guests take a good look. You become the gardener with the unusual find.

Here is your choice: fill borders with the predictable… or introduce a flower few UK gardens grow and enjoy compliments all summer. This collection suits gardeners who enjoy discovery,  gardeners who care about detail, gardeners who like belonging to a circle of growers who plant beyond the ordinary.

Stocks remain limited due to bulb grading size as we only select the top-size in every variety.

Secure your de Jager nine-bulb Hymenocallis Collection today and let your summer garden declare how unique you are.

Care Guide

Hymenocallis grow best in a sunny, sheltered location. Plant the bulbs with their tips just above the surface of the soil in borders or containers spaced 20 cm apart.

Light, well-drained soil is essential for these unusual plants to thrive.  If growing in pots, use an equal mix of loam, good quality multi-purpose compost and sharp sand. Provide consistent watering, ensuring the soil stays moderately moist.

Bring pots undercover for winter or lift bulbs and store in dry medium such as spent compost once flowering stems have withered in autumn.
