Oriental Lilium Passion Moon
L3128
Description
With shapely, bell-shaped blooms held on statuesque stems, Oriental Trumpet Lily ‘Passion Moon’ is a mesmerising sight. Like the shifting light of the moon, the petal edges waver between creamy-lemon and soft white.
These bi-coloured flowers are embellished with a dark pink almost flushed maroon-purple heart at the centre. Soaring to a height of 130 cm, the majestic oriental trumpet lilium 'Passion Moon' draws the eye upwards, providing a spectacular vertical accent to your borders from July to August.
With a scent demanding to be savoured, this hybrid also makes an outstanding cut flower for stately arrangements and bouquets.
Care Guide
To cultivate lilies, choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil, digging a hole 15 cm deep. Plant the bulbs 15-23 cm apart, ensuring they sit 15 cm below the soil surface. Water the surrounding soil well, maintaining soil moisture until growth emerges. Young shoots may be susceptible to slug damage, so use wildlife-friendly methods such as a top layer of sand to protect emerging growth. Most Lilies can also be grown in pots – ensure containers are deep and have large drainage holes in the base. As the majestic stems ascend, they will reach heights of 45-150 cm, depending on variety. Support taller cultivars with stakes as they grow. Use dilute, balanced liquid plant feed every two weeks during the summer. Spray as soon as you notice the bright red lily beetle or their larvae.
