The exquisite beauty of Collarette Dahlia ‘Kelsey Annie Joy’ is thanks to its soft and harmonious colouring and unusual petal formation.
The refined daisy-like blooms are made up of an outer ring of large apricot-yellow petals and a second, smaller layer of soft sunset-pink and peach frills. In the middle of each collarette dahlia 'Kelsey Annie Joy' blushing bloom sits a golden, nectar-packed centre – a haven for pollinators.
Great for containers and mixed garden borders, with a mature height of 80cm. Blend with similar tropical shades for a warm, colourful effect.
The flowers are excellent for cutting and adding to seasonal flower arrangements, lasting for several days in fresh water.
de Jager's Collarette Dahlia 'Kelsey Annie Joy' top size, top quailty tubers are supplied polythene bags, in which they may be safely kept until planting time, stored in a cool place.
To grow Dahlias, select a sunny spot with well-drained soil, and dig a 30cm deep hole. Plant the tuber 10cm below the soil surface, spacing multiple tubers 45cm apart, or 90cm for taller varieties. Water consistently, maintaining moist but not saturated soil and protect new shoots from slug damage with eco-friendly methods. Feed plants during the blooming period with liquid plant food. Provide support for stems which will reach 60-90cm tall depending on variety. Enjoy spectacular blooms from late summer until first frosts. Cut or deadhead the flowers regularly for a continually flourishing display. Once blooming has finished, cut back foliage before lifting, drying and storing the tubers in peat-free substitute, in a frost-free place until the following spring.
