Description

Nerine bowdenii ‘Pearls of Cherry’ brings a lively splash of cherry rose-pink to the autumn garden, unfurling elegant clusters of slender, curling petals that glow with warmth as the season cools.

Give it a warm, sunny, free-draining position and this hardy Nerine bowdenii ‘Pearls of Cherry’ variety will reward you with dependable performance in the British climate, coming back each year with an ever-more impressive show.

Care Guide

Nerines can be grown in pots or in the ground.  Either way, a sunny location is necessary for these autumn flowering bulbs, ideally against a south-facing wall.

Plant the bulbs in spring 10cm apart into well-drained, fertile soil.  Ensure the neck of each bulb sits just above the surface of your soil as this will promote flourishing blooms.

For container planting, use an equal mix of loam based potting compost and multi-purpose compost.

Delicate, lily-like blooms are produced in abundance during September and October.  Excellent for cutting.

In colder regions, mulch the area around your plants after flowering to provide winter protection.

Nerines resent root disturbance, so try not to move them once settled.  Only lift and divide after several years if flowering begins to diminish.
