Flooding the air with exquisite scent, Lily of the Valley is a breath-taking spring delight. The exciting new variety Convallaria ‘Majalis Rosea’ adorns this woodland classic with a soft, blushing charm: the usually white blooms are suffused with shell pink.
Dangling delicately from fine, arching stems, the scalloped bells bob in the breeze against lush green foliage. The ‘pips’ of Convallaria will happily naturalise in a partially shaded spot, providing carpets of hazy pink for under-planting trees, shrubs and perennials.
Convallaria ‘Majalis Rosea’ is also beautiful for forcing indoors, and makes an enchanting cut flower for petite, perfumed bouquets.
Convallaria will thrive and multiply happily in a semi-shaded location, with well-drained soil which remains slightly moist at all times.
Although September and October are optimum planting months, Lily of the Valley may be planted at any time of year, providing the ground is not frozen.
Soak the roots before planting 5cm deep and 15cm apart in the soil.
Ensure consistent moisture, especially after planting. Prefers sandy soil which is slightly acidic.
During the first year, few flowers may be produced during a settling in period. Once established, expect a profusion of highly perfumed charming white bells on stems 20-30cm tall.

Originating from the Eastern Himalayas, Arisaema ‘Speciosum’ is a spectacular, exotic plant which looks as though it belongs on another planet – but you can grow it in your garden!
Arisaema are often called the ‘Cobra Lily’ due to the distinctive, hooded, serpentine shape of their inflorescens. Striped by bands of oxblood red interspersed with veins of pale green, the hood of Arisaema ‘Speciosum’ gradually unfurls to reveal a prominent spadix.
Spreading above the unusual flowers, broad, ornamental leaves are held on thick, mottled stems, creating a structural statement with their architectural form. An astonishing focal point for a damp, shady part of your garden.
