Arisaema Griffithii
M6032
Description
Curious visitors to your garden will be amazed by the incredible sight of Arisaema ‘Griffithii’ – this extraordinary plant will become an immediate talking point.
Otherwise known as the ‘Cobra Lily’, the hooded shoots of Arisaema ‘Griffithii’ extend, curl back on themselves and reveal a spiked tongue – looking exactly like a cobra, ready to strike.
Fascinating not only in form, but also in design, this variety is heavily veined and dappled with mesmerising maroon and green markings. Arisaema Griffithii’ makes a dramatic addition to a cool, shady position in moist, hummus-rich soil. Low-maintenance and grows to height of between 40 - 50 cm.
Care Guide
Plant Arisaema in a cool, shaded location, in well-drained, rich soil. Tubers should be nestled in 15-25cm deep and spaced 15-20cm apart. Soil should be consistently moist without becoming waterlogged as the tubers are susceptible to rot. These intriguing woodland dwellers produce distinctive and unique hooded blooms, reaching heights of 40-60cm from June to September. Apply mulch around the plants in late autumn to protect Arisaema from frost.

Speciosum
M6033
Originating from the Eastern Himalayas, Arisaema ‘Speciosum’ is a spectacular, exotic plant which looks as though it belongs on another planet – but you can grow it in your garden!
Arisaema are often called the ‘Cobra Lily’ due to the distinctive, hooded, serpentine shape of their inflorescens. Striped by bands of oxblood red interspersed with veins of pale green, the hood of Arisaema ‘Speciosum’ gradually unfurls to reveal a prominent spadix.
Spreading above the unusual flowers, broad, ornamental leaves are held on thick, mottled stems, creating a structural statement with their architectural form. An astonishing focal point for a damp, shady part of your garden.

Tortuosum
