Ornithogalum Saundersiae

Description
With stately, elongated stems culminating in a burst of spangled blooms, Ornithogalum ‘Saundersiae’ is also known as ‘Giant Chincherinchee’ for its impressive stature. Taller and more floriferous than its cousins, this variety makes a fine specimen amongst rockeries, borders, and container displays.
Held in dense clusters, each starry, white flower is accented by a jet-black bead at the centre. Ornithogalum are included in the ‘Plants for Pollinators’ scheme by the RHS, providing a plentiful source of nectar to bees and butterflies.

Care Guide
Ornithogalum thrive in warm, sunny spots in the garden, either in the ground or in pots.
Plant the bulbs in spring, 5-8cm deep, spaced 10cm apart into fertile well-drained soil. Water in after planting and consistently once leaves appear and if the soil appears dry. Do not allow the bulbs to sit in cold, wet soil.
Flowers appear in late summer on stems 15-80cm tall, depending on variety.
Bulbs planted in borders require lifting and storing over the winter and replanted the following spring.

Pendula Cascade 'Mixed Colours' Begonias are excellent for adding a rainbow of colour to your summer displays. Featuring a double frilly blooms which can reach up to 15 cm in diameter and cascade over containers. Our begonias flower for months on end, from May until at least September.
Begonias thrive best in light soil which is rich in leaf-mould, in a position in part shade where the layered flowers shimmer as they catch the light. Start in March or April, preferably in a cold frame or greenhouse.
Fill pots, hanging baskets, window-boxes, and unusual vintage containers with trailing pendula cascade begonias for a show-stopping display. They can reach a flowering height of between 15-20 cm.
de Jager's Pendula Cascade 'Mixed Colours' Begonia tubers are top quality, top size and really make a huge difference in terms of flowering.
