A riot of colour - orange, red, yellow, purple, pink, green - every flower a wild parade. No two blooms quite alike, each one rotated and curled like tropical feathers.
Blooming in May, these tulips are garden fireworks. For those who love drama, boldness, and surprise, ‘Rasta Parrot’ delivers in abundance
November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade.
Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
