Early Double Tulip Monte Orange
T1263
Description
For high voltage colour in early spring, few flowers can compare to the luscious Early Double ‘Monte Orange’. With multiple, overlapping tiers of marmalade tinted petals, these Early Double tulips seem lit from within by a golden glow. The long-lasting flowers unfurl from tightly cupped buds to open, bowl-shaped blooms ribbed by green sepals. Stocky, sturdy stems hold the large, lavish flower heads upright, even in exposed locations.
These vibrant tulips make an eye-catching addition to window boxes, containers, and bedding displays. Try planting tulip ‘Monte Orange’ in striking single colour drifts, in a ‘hot’ scheme of reds and yellows or dotted amongst contrasting deep purples.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.

Bleu Aimable
T1672
Silken, reflexed petals of lavender-blue open up from tight buds in May to produce the most perfect blooms on May Flowering Tulip ‘Bleu Aimable’, making this unusual tulip the star of spring borders and containers. The colours become deeper and richer as the blooms mature.
Acid-green foliage seems to intensify the purple hues and this stunning tulip works equally well with silvery-blue plants in the garden and in the vase.
Late-blooming tulip ‘Bleu Aimable’ is one of the last tulips to bloom, putting on an unmissable encore in the spring garden.
-
Antoinette
T1909
Tulip ‘Antoinette’ transforms through sweet ice-cream shades of creamy vanilla, raspberry and peachy-pink as it matures, creating a fascinating visual effect, especially when planted in dense bright ribbons through spring borders.
This bouquet-flowering tulip produces stems of at least 4 full-sized blooms making this a valuable addition to the garden in May, adding bountiful beauty and colour before the summer flowers awake.
Known as the chameleon tulip, ‘Antoinette’ looks impressive filling a large container, either alone or paired with taller single tulips.
-
Abba
