Hardy Gladiolus Mixture
M5491
Description
A finely balanced assortment of dwarf Gladioli, our ‘Mixture’ is a flurry of pretty pinks, like an orchard laden with spring blossom. From white petals with magenta markings, to pale pastel pinks and bursts of fuchsia, this combination offers a harmonious blend of colour to compliment your planting scheme. Gladioli bring a welcome dimension of height, breaking up the flowing forms of an herbaceous border with their strong vertical lines. These ‘Nanus’ varieties are compact, sturdy, weather resistant and suitable for container growing. Gladioli make superior cut flowers, and this collection creates armfuls of ready-made bouquets to display in your home.
Care Guide
For early flowering, hardy Gladiolus, choose a warm and sunny, well-drained location.
Plant corms with the pointy side up, 8-10cm deep and 15cm apart in the soil. Provide consistent watering after planting and during dry spells, ensuring soil remains moderately moist.
Plant corms at intervals, every two weeks from spring until early summer for a staggered display.
Robust stems of elegant, sword-shaped blooms rise to heights of 60-75cm between June and August.
After flowering, remove spent and withered stalks and foliage and apply a mulch to the soil in late autumn.
