Fritillaria Imperialis Aurora
M5381
Description
Fritillaria Imperialis ‘Aurora’ produces vivid orange-red bell-shaped flowers suspended beneath a striking crown of glossy green foliage, creating a bold architectural display in spring. The fiery blooms of Fritillaria Imperialis ‘Aurora’ bring height, drama, and rich seasonal colour to April borders, formal planting schemes, and large patio containers.
Ideal for fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position, this stately Crown Imperial performs beautifully where its strong upright form can take centre stage. Reliable and eye-catching, it adds structure and grandeur to spring gardens year after year.
Care Guide
Failing to flower after the first year is due to a lack of potash fertiliser, which is necessary for spurring bloom formation for the following year’s flowering.
Plant large bulbs 15 cm deep and small bulbs 8 cm deep, in well-drained soil.
Plant bulbs on their side to prevent water getting into the hollow crown.
