Description
Crown Tulip ‘Red Dress’ produces richly coloured scarlet-red blooms that bring bold warmth and vibrant energy to spring gardens. The vivid petals of tulip ‘Red Dress’ create an eye-catching display in borders, containers, and feature planting schemes, where the intense colour adds drama and elegance throughout the season.
Flowering on sturdy upright stems, this striking variety makes a powerful statement when planted in groups or paired with contrasting whites and darker tulips. Its glowing tones capture the spirit of spring.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
