Lily Flowering Tulip 'Marilyn' captivate with outstanding white petals adorned with fuchsine-purple feathered flames. Intricate feathering on both sides of the petals adds a dramatic and artistic flair, creating a striking visual effect.
These tulips bring a sense of bold elegance and refined beauty to the garden, unique coloration and lily-like form making them a standout choice. 'Marilyn' tulips are perfect for creating sophisticated and eye-catching garden displays.
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
