Description

Create carpets of magical, woodland enchantment with Anemone Blanda ‘Charmer’. Planted en-masse, these little bulbs produce swathes of lilac-pink flowers in spring. Each daisy-like, starry bloom blushes with rosy-pink petals merging into a white centre, punctuated by soft yellow stamens.

An ideal partner for later-flowering perennials, anemone blanda Charmer offers a burst of spring joy before the rest of the garden awakens. Fine, filigree foliage offers fantastic groundcover, perfect for underplanting shrubs and trees, and edging walkways and borders.

Otherwise known as ‘Grecian Windflowers’, these charismatic, low-growing Anemones will happily naturalise into drifts, multiplying each year for an increasingly remarkable, naturalistic display.

Care Guide

To grow Anemones successfully, select a partly shaded area with well-drained, humus-rich soil.

Pre-soak corms overnight in tepid water, planting 5-8 cm deep and 15 cm apart the following day.

Keep soil consistently moist without waterlogging and feed with dilute liquid seaweed every week during flower production.

Graceful stems of open-faced blooms rise to heights of 15-30 cm between March andJune.

The delicate flowers are wonderful for cutting and arranging.

Can be grown undercover in a greenhouse or polytunnel for earlier flowers and may also be grown in containers or crates.
