Lily Flowering Tulip Elegant Lady
T1747
Description
A tulip truly worthy of its name, Lily Flowering Tulip ‘Elegant Lady’ is a stylish and graceful bloom to bring a sophisticated edge to the garden in late spring. Soft, muted shades of creamy-yellow with touches of lavender and blush-pink merge together on arching, pointed petals forming fine, lily-like blooms.
Excellent for cutting and easy to weave into spring floral arrangements to compliment the shape and colour of other flowers.
Tulip ‘Elegant Lady’ looks magical in any spring border and is perfect for pretty pots. Underplant with pink and violet flowers to enhance the hues.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
