Darwin Tulip ‘Apricot Pride’ produces large creamy-peach blooms with soft warm tones that bring elegance and calm to spring gardens. The gently coloured flowers of tulip ‘Apricot Pride’ are carried on strong, weather-resistant stems, making this reliable variety ideal for borders, containers, and large seasonal displays.
Its inviting pastel shades blend beautifully with whites, soft pinks, and deeper apricot tones, creating a refined and harmonious planting scheme. Flowering through mid to late spring.
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
