Description

Viridiflora Tulip ‘Doll’s Minuet’ produces vivid red petals dramatically flared with vertical green flames, creating one of the most distinctive and sharply defined tulip displays of late spring. The elegant blooms of tulip ‘Doll’s Minuet’ combine vibrant colour with crisp line and structure, bringing a bold architectural quality to borders and contemporary planting schemes.

Flowering through May on tall upright stems, this striking variety performs especially well in all garden designs and pots. Cool spring weather helps extend the flowering period, allowing the unusual colouring and refined form to be enjoyed even longer.

Care Guide

October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.

Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade.  Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.

After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
