May Flowering Tulip Memphis
T1740
Description
May Flowering Tulip ‘Memphis’ produces soft pink petals with a fresh white base, creating a gentle and beautifully balanced spring display. Flowering reliably through May, the elegant blooms of tulip ‘Memphis’ bring poise, warmth, and understated charm to borders, pathways, and seasonal container arrangements.
Ideal for the front of borders or clustered in patio pots, this refined variety offers a soft glowing presence that complements both pastel and brighter planting schemes. A perfect choice for gardeners who appreciate subtle beauty over bold spectacle.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
