Martagon Lilium Golden Morning
L3898
Description
Golden petals studded with dark red freckles twist backward on arching stems. Martagon Lily 'Golden Morning' is delight in a summer garden. The 'morning' theme of these lilies is reminiscent of early morning light colour.
The nodding, Turk’s-cap flowers hang gracefully from slender, tiered stems, often with up to 40–50 blooms per stem, creating a cascading display. Grows to a height of between 100 - 120 cm. Flowering in June, martagon lilium 'Golden Morning' adds height and drama to borders. A natural for wild corners and shady plots, where it rises year after year with increasing vigour.
Care Guide
To cultivate lilies, choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil, digging a hole 15 cm deep. Plant the bulbs 15-23 cm apart, ensuring they sit 15 cm below the soil surface. Water the surrounding soil well, maintaining soil moisture until growth emerges. Young shoots may be susceptible to slug damage, so use wildlife-friendly methods such as a top layer of sand to protect emerging growth. Most Lilies can also be grown in pots – ensure containers are deep and have large drainage holes in the base. As the majestic stems ascend, they will reach heights of 45-150 cm, depending on variety. Support taller cultivars with stakes as they grow. Use dilute, balanced liquid plant feed every two weeks during the summer. Spray as soon as you notice the bright red lily beetle or their larvae.
