Description

Muscari Comosum produces unusual flower spikes with distinctive urn-shaped lower blooms topped by wiry purple tufts, creating a wonderfully textured and architectural display in late spring and early summer. The airy stems of Muscari Comosum bring movement and natural charm to gravel gardens, wildflower-style planting, and sunny borders, especially when planted in generous drifts.

Flowering through May and June, this distinctive variety thrives in dry, well-drained soil and sunny positions where it will gradually naturalise and multiply undisturbed. Ideal for adding contrast and a more relaxed, natural feel to seasonal planting schemes.

Care Guide

Very easy to grow, this is a useful and popular clump-forming plant, producing splashes of colour in the rockery or at the edges of beds and borders.

Usually blue (but not always), they are frequently planted between taller bulbs such as tulips and daffodils.

They can also be used for naturalising in woodland or planted in swathes. Plant 7cm deep, 10cm apart.
