Description

There comes a point when you stop planting daffodils. Not because you dislike them. Quite the opposite.

You have already imagined planting your yellow daffodils under the apple tree. Along the drive. Through the grass. In pots by the back door. They do their job so well, planning more feels unnecessary. Perhaps you already know where the snowdrops will appear. Your tulips. You know which border wakes first. Your garden is going to give you pleasure, but not many surprises.

Then you discover pink and white narcissi. The appeal is difficult to explain to anyone who has never grown them.

The familiar shapes are still there. The dependability is still there. They emerge at the same welcome moment in the year. Yet the garden now feels different. A little less predictable. A little more considered, because nobody plants pink and white daffodils by accident.

This collection brings together three varieties of pink and white daffodils, two of which hold RHS awards:

6 bulbs of Precocious

Showy Large Cupped Narcissus ‘Precocious’ is blessed with a frilly, flared cup of rich flamingo-pink, enhanced by a velvet ivory corolla. Dark blue-green foliage adds to narcissus Precocious statement looks. This narcissi is an RHS Recommended Award of Garden Merit holder

6 bulbs of Pink Charm

A desirable Daffodil to bring a modern romantic edge to spring garden and container planting, Large Cupped Narcissi ‘Pink Charm’ is an exquisite variety of peach-pink Narcissus.  This delicate and feminine narcissus Pink Charm blooms from early April, sometimes with two flowers per stem.  A gorgeous variety for cutting and arranging.

6 bulbs of Kaydee

A true belle of the spring ball, Dwarf Cylamineus Narcissus ‘Kaydee’ enchants and enthrals with a porcelain perianth and a flared, frilled, coral-pink crown. Dainty and nimble with charmingly curved petals, this bi-coloured bloom resembles a delicately blushing debutante. In recognition not only of its beauty, reliability and quality, daffodil ‘Kaydee’ has been granted the highest accolade – an RHS Recommended Award of Garden Merit.

As you expect from de Jager, all are supplied as large 14/16cm bulbs.

Eighteen quality bulbs, enough to weave through existing drifts, lift a container display, or create small moments of surprise where you expected to see yellow.

Normally £39.19 including postage. Our price for these EIGHTEEN BULBS is £19.50 with free delivery. A discount of 50%.

This is always a popular offer so please order early whilst stocks last.

Perhaps the reason pink and white narcissi have such loyal followers amongst discerning gardeners, is due to the understanding that yellow daffodils establish spring… but pink and white narcissi refine it.

Care Guide

Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter.

A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring.

Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass.

Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth.

Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
