Tulip Species Orphanidea Flava
T1034
Description
The petals of Species Tulip ‘Orphanidea Flava’ flash like a flickering flame, with a yellow base streaked with orange, bronze, and crimson flares. This multi-flowering Species tulip is ablaze with vibrant colour, dazzling with long-lasting blooms above lance-shaped, grey-green foliage.
Responding to the warmth of spring sunshine, this lively variety casts its petals wide open by day and closes to a slender point at night. Tulip ‘Orphanidea Flava’ will bring the reassuring glow of warm embers to your container displays, rockeries, borders, and lawns. This botanical tulip is an excellent naturaliser and will radiate rapidly to form striking swathes of colour.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.

Foxy Foxtrot
T1259
Named after a popular 1970s Dutch song about a beguiling dancer, you will be captivated by the mesmerising blooms of Early Double ‘Foxy Foxtrot’ as they waltz their way through spring.
