Combining a selection of the best-loved Triumph and Lily-flowered tulips, our ‘Mid-Season Tulip Mixture’ is an extra fine assortment to bridge the gap between the early and late-bloomers. This blend is a crescendo of exuberant, flamboyant colour to fill borders and containers throughout the garden.
The mid-height, extremely sturdy stems make these tulips well suited to exposed positions, proving resistant even in our unpredictable British weather. This bright, long-lasting colour collection is a ready-made bouquet – snip a bunch of your favourites for a joyous floral arrangement.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
