Description
A fabulous, late-flowering Allium, ‘Miami’ produces striking blooms in deep, rich purple throughout July - perfect for extending the joyous ornamental Allium season. The unusual flowerheads form an umbellifer shape, as opposed to the regular Allium ‘globes’ more often seen in early summer gardens.
Popular for cutting, thanks to its eye-catching looks and long-lasting quality, eye-catching allium Miami produces long stems up to 80cm tall.
Plant the bubs towards the centre or back of a large border, in clusters for best effect. For a harmonious look, plant next to Allium ‘Angulosum’ and purple-toned summer perennials such as Salvias, Perovskia and Lavender.
Care Guide
Plant in rich, well-drained soil. Larger bulbs should be planted 10 cm deep and the smaller ones 5 cm deep; they may be left undisturbed for many years.

Fill your pots with a dreamy mix of bulbs in tonal shades, to bloom in succession from early spring. Fresh white Chionodoxa, known as ‘Glory of the Snow’ will emerge first, followed by the delicate feathery purple plumes of Iris reticulata.
Richly scented blue Hyacinths flower during March and April, just as the pointed tips of vibrant pink tulips rise and burst forth into bloom to complete this showstopping symphony of colourful and textural classics.
We recommend planting your bulbs 4 cm apart in a container which is 65 cm deep. Start layering your bulbs with the largest and latest blooming varieties at the bottom, decreasing in size to the smallest bulbs on top.
