Oxalis Purpurea Ken Aslet
M5783
Description
Silky leaves tinted with silver cradle bright lemon blooms through autumn’s quiet weeks. Oxalis Purpurea Ken Aslet's velvety leaves are a delight.
Flowers appear just as summer growth recedes, offering fresh cheer when gardens begin to rest. Low-growing and well-suited for rockeries or alpine beds. Prefers well-drained soil and a sunny, sheltered corner for reliable return each year.
Care Guide
Oxalis grows best in sun or part shade and are ideal plants for rockeries, containers and borders. They can also be grown indoors in pots in colder regions.
Plant the bulbs in late spring into any well-drained soil, 5cm deep and 10-15cm apart. Add a handful of slow-release fertiliser to the soil or compost if you are growing in pots.
Provide regular watering to keep the soil evenly moist.
Dainty flowers appear any time between April and November above the clover-like leaves.
In very cold regions, the bulbs should be lifted and stored in a frost-free place for winter.
