Bring sweet romance into the garden with gladiolus 'Rose Supreme', the ruffled spires of salmon-rose open to creamy-white centres. The majestic flower spikes bring an elegant look to summer borders.
Sword-like foliage of Large Flowered Gladioli 'Rose Supreme' provides a crisp green backdrop that enhances the warm pink tones. Its balanced colour makes it an excellent partner for burgundy foliage, silver perennials, or cool blues.
de Jager top quality, top size Gladioli are best grown in fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny spot. Plant the corms a week or two apart throughout spring for a long succession of pretty flowers between July and September.
To cultivate Gladioli, choose a sunny site with well-drained, well-manured garden soil. Dig a trench 15cm deep and place the corms 10-15cm apart, covering with soil and ensuring they sit 5cm below the surface. Water regularly, maintaining soil moisture until growth is established, and during hot, dry spells of weather. Stagger planting at two-week intervals to ensure continuous flowering over a long period. Expect stately, colourful spikes reaching 60-90cm in height which many require staking for support. The smaller variety ‘Glamini’ Gladioli will reach a maximum height of 50cm.
