Corydalis Solida Purple Bird
M5246
Description
Generous clusters of plum-purple, tubular blooms hang from fleshy stems on Corydalis ‘Purple Bird’ during March and April.
A lush bed of silvered-green, ferny foliage provides a perfect backdrop against which the charming blooms gleam, even in the darkest corners of the garden.
Rich, well-drained soil in full or part-shade is best for these garden gems to thrive. The tubers will multiply below ground once settled, providing a more floriferous display year after year.
Ideal for planting beneath large shrubs and along the edges of shaded woodland borders and pathways. The plants lie dormant from summer until the following spring.
Care Guide
These do not like rich soil or full sun. Leave them to naturalise and provide a semi-wild area of pastel colour in spring.
Plant 7.5cm (3”) deep, 10cm (4”) apart. Can be left undisturbed for many years.
