Hardy Gladiolus Communis Byzantinus
M5482
Description
The Hardy Gladiolus Communis byzantinus boasts an explosion of brilliant deep purple-red flowers, their intense hues vividly standing out in any garden. Each blossom, often shaded with a reddish-violet tinge, captures the sunlight, radiating warmth and vibrancy.
These striking blooms, rising on tall, sturdy stems, bring a sense of drama and passion to your garden, drawing the eye and enchanting the soul with bold, unapologetic colour and robust beauty.
Care Guide
For early flowering, hardy Gladiolus, choose a warm and sunny, well-drained location.
Plant corms with the pointy side up, 8-10cm deep and 15cm apart in the soil. Provide consistent watering after planting and during dry spells, ensuring soil remains moderately moist.
Plant corms at intervals, every two weeks from spring until early summer for a staggered display.
Robust stems of elegant, sword-shaped blooms rise to heights of 60-75cm between June and August.
After flowering, remove spent and withered stalks and foliage and apply a mulch to the soil in late autumn.
