Eremurus Rexone
M5314
Description
Golden-bronze flower spikes soar like torches in early summer, star-shaped blooms crowding towering stems. Requires a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil and a winter mulch. Once established, returns yearly with taller and stronger stems.
Eremurus Rexone is a true showpiece for midsummer beds or gravel gardens.
Care Guide
Grow aristocratic Eremurus in a sunny, well-drained site with light soil. Add a bed of sand to the planting hole if you garden on heavy soil.
Plant the tuberous, spider-like roots 8-10cm deep, spaced 30-60cm apart in the earth. Place in groups of 3 or 5 for impact.
Provide consistent watering, ensuring the soil remains moderately moist particularly during dry spells of weather and whilst the roots settle in.
Majestic, fuzzy spires of yellow, orange or pink will rise to impressive heights of 90-200cm in midsummer when the flowers bloom.
During winter, mulch the area around Foxtail lilies with leaf mould to enrich the soil and add protection against harsh weather.
