Description

Fritillaria Sewerzowii ‘Green Eyes’ produces extraordinary green-yellow flowers surrounding dramatic dark, almost black centres, creating a striking contrast rarely seen in spring bulbs. The unusual blooms of Fritillaria sewerzowii ‘Green Eyes’ appear in succession through April and May, bringing subtle drama and botanical interest to alpine gardens, gravel beds, and collectors’ displays.

Best grown in a sheltered sunny position with gritty, well-drained soil, this distinctive fritillary thrives where its intricate colouring can be admired up close. Elegant, unusual, and highly sought after, it is a true conversation piece for gardeners who appreciate rare and characterful plants.

Care Guide

Failing to flower after the first year is due to a lack of potash fertiliser, which is necessary for spurring bloom formation for the following year’s flowering.

Plant large bulbs 15 cm deep and small bulbs 8 cm deep, in well-drained soil.

Plant bulbs on their side to prevent water getting into the hollow crown.
