Description
What happens when fireworks and flowers have a love child.
Your garden is a special place, reflecting your style, personality, and care. So, in this letter, I thought I would recommend something we all find rather splendid—and, not surprisingly, sought-after: Alliums. October will be with us sooner than we expect, and, as a gardener you know this is the perfect month to plant your alliums to obtain a stunning display late Spring and Summer.
de Jager have carefully put together a special collection of 30 premium Allium bulbs, selected specifically to make an impact in your garden. These thirty bulbs spread across four varieties, will flower at different times, different heights, and in shades of green & magenta, purple, silvery-purple and yellow—each one as beautifully individual as the next. Your alliums will float above your borders like horticultural fireworks, catching the eye without making a fuss.
Advance Order Offer (whilst stocks last):
30 top-size, top-quality, allium bulbs across 4 varieties
Normal price with delivery £23.45, offer price £14.00 with FREE delivery, giving you a 40% saving
You will receive:
10 x Sphaerocephalon Bulbs 6/+ cm in size
These little nonconformists start green, turn deep magenta, and pop up like botanical exclamation marks. Sphaerocephalon (the name simply means ‘spherical head’) show up late (July-August), steal the spotlight, and somehow make it all look effortless. Low-maintenance, high impact. If your border needs a bit of quiet mischief, then this is the allium for you . Plant in clumps, stand back, and be suitably humble when you see the results.
5 x Purple Sensation Bulbs 14/+ in size
The classic allium and one of the most in demand…and for good reason. Bold, purple globes appear just when the garden needs a bit of late Spring theatre. Not too tall, not too short—just enough to get noticed. Bees love them. Your garden loves them. You will love them. Once they stop flowering your border will feel strangely empty as they make such an impact.
5 x Christophii allium Bulbs 14/+ in size
These are your garden’s show-offs, but in the best possible way. Big, silvery-purple stars arranged in a loose firework of a flowerhead. Looks exotic, is easy to grow and not fussy on conditions. Leave the heads standing and they dry into natural sculptures. Christophii looks more akin to planting garden jewellery than a flower.
10 x Moly Jeannine 5/+ in size
Few gardeners expect yellow from an Allium, which is precisely the point of planting this allium. Molly Jeanine offers cheerful, sunshine-bright flowers just when everything else has not yet fully awoken. Compact, friendly, and quietly useful in awkward corners. Think of it as a small act of optimism—planted in autumn, glowing by May.
de Jager customers often tell me how their Alliums become favourites: low effort, great charm, and quietly admired by visitors (and bees). These alliums you will receive are elegant without trying too hard—and are also brilliantly reliable.
As you are one of our valued gardening customers, I thought you might like the opportunity to be among the first to pre-order your allium collection. However, within a few weeks our stocks will be genuinely limited, so please do place your order soon.
These top-quality bulbs will be despatched in October, crisp, fresh and ready for planting, as soon as they arrive from our excellent grower in Holland…ensuring your alliums establish themselves comfortably in time for a stunning display come late Spring and Summer.
Wishing you gardening joy now - and plenty more to look forward to when your alliums are in their pomp.
Warm regards,
George Clowes
Care Guide
Plant in rich, well-drained soil.
The larger bulbs should be planted 10cm (4”) deep and the smaller ones 5cm (2”) deep; they may be left undisturbed for many years.
