50 Camassia Quamash Half Price
CAM32
Description
You Could Stake, Spray, and Fuss — Or You Could Plant our Half-Price Camassia.
Perhaps you agree one of the most exciting times for you as a gardener is when spring begins to lean towards summer. This is when your camassia flourish. Camassia lifts the garden, the spires reach up gently, the flowers open in soft blue shades, calm and cool, shaped like stars.
This is not for gardeners drawn to the obvious. This suits those who have moved beyond spectacle and now seek something which feels rooted, unforced, and in complete harmony with the British soil. Camassia steps into that awkward pause - after spring’s trumpets have quieted, before summer's carnival begins…but rather than merely bridging the gap, they raise the whole mood.
This HALF-PRICE offer is for 50 bulbs of Camassia quamash. These 50 bulbs have a retail price with postage of £20.95. Your price WHILST STOCKS LAST is £10.40 with FREE delivery.
Place the bulbs in autumn and leave them be. Camassia favours heavier earth. They welcome damp patches. Full sun or gentle shade º both suit them. Camassia return each year, slowly multiplying, never demanding, never loud. No stakes. No chasing pests. No rituals. Just a stylish presence.
Scatter your bulbs through lawns, not in rows but with freedom. Tuck more between the feathery greens of ferns and the tall, watchful blooms of foxgloves. Camassia does not chase the latest trend. Camassia anchors a garden. Camassia brings style.
While others collect baskets of blaring colour from the garden centre, you will have something more measured - something worth waiting for, something classical.
Plant a few this autumn. Let them find their rhythm. Then when late May comes and waves of blue rise softly in your garden - you will not wonder. You will understand.
Camassia ‘Quamash’ produces striking spikes of brilliant-blue flowers from a bed of narrow foliage during May and June.
Perfect for naturalising in meadow and woodland areas, this bewitching beauty also adds a pop of colour to informal, mixed borders in contemporary and traditional gardens. The bulbs are happy in damp soil and dappled shade, as well as in full sun.
Elegant Camassias make great cut flowers, thanks to their straight, slender stems and long-lasting spires of star-shaped blooms. ‘Quamash’ is more petite than some cultivars, standing 35cm tall, yet is still useful for adding a delicate flourish of blue to floral arrangements and vases.
Care Guide
Thrives in wet and heavy soil, although prolonged water-logging 4 throughout the winter can lead to rotting. Requires sun or partial shade. Plant 10cm (4”) deep, 15cm (6”) apart.
