Crown Tulip Flaming Crown
T3005
Description
Crown Tulip ‘Flaming Crown’ produces unusual coronet-shaped flowers that open in soft creamy-yellow shades streaked with red, gradually deepening to richer crimson tones as the blooms mature.
The evolving colouring of tulip ‘Flaming Crown’ creates a dramatic and ever-changing spring display, bringing warmth and distinctive form to borders, containers, and feature planting schemes.
This remarkable tulip creates standout focal points in spring gardens and patio displays alike.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
