Mid-Season Tulip ‘Jimmy’ produces warm apricot-orange flowers illuminated with soft golden highlights, creating a glowing and inviting spring display. The richly blended tones of tulip ‘Jimmy’ bring warmth and light to borders, containers, and seasonal planting schemes, pairing beautifully with creams, deep purples, and softer pastel tulips.
Flowering reliably through mid-spring, this elegant variety adds cheerful colour and a gentle sunset-like glow to the garden.
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
