May Flowering Tulip White Proud
T1741
Description
Tulip ‘White Proud’ produces tall, elegant pure white flowers with a timeless cup-shaped form, bringing freshness and sophistication to late spring displays. The refined blooms of May Flowering Tulip ‘White Proud’ are carried on strong upright stems, creating excellent structure and graceful height in borders, containers, and formal planting schemes.
Flowering through May, this classic variety pairs beautifully with both pastel and vibrant tulips, adding light, balance, and a clean architectural presence to the spring garden.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.

Artist
T1499
Blooming in shades of salmon and rose, flushed with dark green and muted purple, the pointed petals of Viridiflora Tulip ‘Artist’ look as though they have been painted with the sweeping strokes of an artist’s brush.
These unique Heirloom tulips are long-lasting and return every spring for years to come, unlike many modern tulip varieties. The stems are not especially long, so plant near the front of the border and fill your pots to ensure tulip Artist’s exceptional beauty is not overshadowed by taller plants.

Renown
T1686
Huge chalice-like flowerheads of watermelon-pink bloom during May on tulip ‘Renown’. The petal edges soften towards their margins to apricot and salmon shades and deepen at their bases.
An excellent tulip for cutting thanks to its long stems and voluptuous flowers, tulip ‘Renown’ is long-lasting both as a cut flower and in the garden.
Marries well with other sunset-toned tulips such as ‘Menton’, ‘Ogene’, ‘Ballerina’, and the showy and glamorous ‘Apricot Parrot’.
