Rembrandt Tulip ‘Happy Generation’ produces striking bi-colour blooms with ivory-white petals dramatically flamed in rich ruby-red and softened with hints of golden yellow. The bold markings of tulip ‘Happy Generation’ create a vibrant and artistic spring display, bringing colour, contrast, and classic elegance to borders, containers, and feature planting schemes.
Flowering on sturdy stems through mid to late spring, this eye-catching tulip pairs beautifully with darker tulips and fresh green foliage.
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
