Description

Parrot Tulip ‘Texas Flame’ produces bold yellow flowers dramatically flamed with rich red tones, creating a vivid and fiery late spring display. The lightly feathered petals of tulip ‘Texas Flame’ add movement and texture to borders, containers, and seasonal planting schemes, giving each bloom an exotic and theatrical appearance.

Flowering through late spring on sturdy stems, this eye-catching variety brings warmth, energy, and dramatic colour contrast to the garden, especially when planted in bold groups or paired with darker tulips.

Care Guide

October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.

Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade.  Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.

After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
