Tazetta Narcissi Minnow
N0514
Description
Like the tiny fish of the same name which flit and dart in the water, Narcissus ‘Minnow’ makes up for its size with enthusiasm and energy. With clusters of up to 4 heads per stem, and multiple stems per bulb, this fantastic variety soon forms a swirling shoal of sensationally scented flowers. Each individual button-like bloom has perfectly formed, cream petals and a distinctive flat nose of contrasting yellow. This little live wire is also excellent at naturalising, with groupings quickly forming into delightful drifts amongst lawns and borders. The remarkable vigour and vitality of ‘Minnow’ have earnt this lively Tazetta an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Care Guide
Plant Daffodil and Narcissi bulbs in autumn, ideally in mid September to early October to enable roots to establish before a period of cold in winter. A position in full sun or light shade is best and good drainage is essential. Daffodils and Narcissi are long lasting and naturalise well, providing a welcoming display every spring. Ideal for borders, containers, rock gardens and open grass. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep and apart, depending on variety. A good rule of thumb is to plant bulbs 2-3 times their depth. Flowers appear in March and April and should be deadheaded once faded. The foliage should be left to turn yellow and fade naturally on the plant as this helps to feed the bulbs for next year’s blooms.
