Tulip Species Clusiana Cynthia
T1002
Description
Otherwise known as the ‘golden lady tulip’, ‘Clusiana Cynthia’ is a petite, gilded beauty, exuding elegance and style. Flashes of raspberry red and chartreuse green are painted on a buttercup yellow background. Elongated, pointed buds open to fluted, star-shaped blooms on slender stems above fine foliage.
Despite a refined appearance, this Species Tulip Clusiana Cynthia is resilient and vigorous, boasting the accolade of an RHS Award of Garden Merit for reliability in the garden. These enchanting blooms are perfect for filling patio pots for an early display, and to dot amongst grass and borders for a tapestry of colour as the bulbs gradually naturalise.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.

Queen of Night
T1671
The striking beauty of tulip ‘Queen of Night’ must be seen to be believed. These almost-black tulips have a velveteen quality in shade, but when sunlight shines through, the petals glow and their rich, plummy tones come to life.
Tulip ‘Queen of Night’ makes an excellent bedfellow to other late tulips and in fact, nearly all colours are enhanced by its rich tones - pale pinks appear softer, orange shades burn brighter, and whites will seem more luminous.
A superior and elegant maroon tulip with long stems, ideal for cutting and adding an unusual edge to floral designs.

Woodstock
H2857
Spikes of velvet-plum, bell-shaped blooms are an intriguing and exquisite introduction to the home at Christmastime. Prepared Hyacinth ‘Woodstock’ is perfect for forcing, bringing spring scent and lush, rich colour into your living spaces during the depths of winter.
These specially prepared hyacinth Woodstock bulbs have been treated to flower indoors around Christmas, if potted up in September and kept in a cool, dark space until early December when they can be moved into their final position to be enjoyed. Plant the bulbs in a container such as a basket or bowl with the top third of the bulb showing above soil level. A layer of moss can be used to cover the surface of bare soil to evoke a natural woodland look.
These bulbs can also be forced in water by placing a prepared bulb in the top of a hyacinth vase, with the base sitting just above, but not touching the water level. Roots will rapidly form, seeking out hydration below before buds emerge and burst into flower.
de Jager's top quality, top size bulbs really make a huge difference in terms of flowering.
