Fosteriana Tulip Exotic Emperor
T1134
Description
With impeccable white, peony-shaped blooms enveloped by slender, green-streaked sepals, Fosteriana ‘Exotic Emperor’ is the ultimate in regal elegance. Arriving early in the season, the crisp, pure petals encapsulate the freshness of spring. Large flower heads are borne on elongated stems with majestic splendour.
This fosteriana variety boasts exceptionally long-lasting blooms, both in the garden and in the vase for an enduring, chic floral display. Nestle the sizeable bulbs in prominently positioned containers to enjoy them for weeks on end. Planted in borders or amongst grass, tulip ‘Exotic Emperor’ makes an excellent perennial tulip to relish for many years to come.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.

Jan Bos
H2852
Carmine-pink, frilled bells bloom in abundance, smothering the stout stems of award-winning Hyacinth ‘Jan Bos,’ bringing vivid colour and exquisite fragrance into the home at Christmastime.
Recipient of a prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the RHS, watching these charming hyacinth Jan Bos spring flowers bloom when the weather is still cold outside, you understand the reason they hold this accolade.
The specially prepared bulbs are despatched in September, and should be planted shallowly in bowls or containers, with the green tip and portion of bulb above soil level.
May also be forced in water by placing a prepared bulb in the top of a hyacinth vase, with the base sitting above, but not touching water level. Roots will rapidly form, seeking out the water below – a miraculous process which is fascinating to watch.
For Christmas flowers, keep your containers in a cool, dark place until the beginning of December when they can be brought out into the light.

Yellowstone
H2860
Hyacinth ‘Yellow Stone,’ produces pretty, ruffled spikes of frilled lemon-yellow flowers which bloom in exuberance and emit a rich perfume.
Recipient of a prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the RHS.
These specially prepared bulbs have been treated in order to flower at, or around Christmastime, bringing a touch of spring indoors when the weather is still chilly outside.
Despatched in September, the bulbs should be planted in bowls or containers of bulb compost, with a third of the bulb still visible, and placed in a dark, cold room for 12-14 weeks. Expect flowers in 2-3 weeks once the containers are brought out into a bright, warm room.
These spectacular Hyacinths can also be forced in water by placing each prepared bulb in the top of a hyacinth vase, with the base sitting above, but not touching water level. Roots will rapidly form, sensing the water source below. Store and treat in the same way as potted bubs as above.
