A mesmerising spectacle, the Fosteriana Tulip 'Three Colour Mix' combines golden, white, and orange tulips in a stunning display of harmony and contrast. These emperor tulips, with stately blooms, create a vibrant mosaic which enlivens any garden space.
The mix offers a dynamic visual experience, each tulip colour enhancing the beauty of the others. Together, they form a captivating tapestry of hues, celebrating the diversity and richness of springtime blooms.
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
