The meaning of ‘Passionale’ is ‘passionate’, and this is certainly a tulip to inspire feelings of ardour. Prized for its lustrous, amethyst petals framed by a band of deeper purple, the neat blooms flare outwards to give a curvaceous contour. As the flowers relax and open in the sunshine, you may glimpse the sulphur yellow anthers peeping out from the centre.

This marvellous, mid-season variety lends its rich opulence to borders, container displays and floral arrangements. In recognition of its superior quality and reliability, ‘Passionale’ has been granted the honour of an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
