May Flowering Tulip Clearwater
T1697
Description
Tulip ‘Clearwater’ is an exquisite, pure white tulip which brings an ethereal quality to the garden. The ghostly blooms shine brightly in the border and make a fabulous addition to both modern and traditional planting designs – looking chic in a fresh palette of white and green plants and adding some simple and timeless glamour to more colourful spring gardens.
These classy, crisp-white Triumph tulips prefer to be planted in slight shade for the longest display and are wonderful for picking – little rivals a vase or bouquet full of clean white tulips in spring.
Care Guide
November is the optimum month for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring. Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20cm deep, spaced 10-20cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area. After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
