May Flowering Tulip Two Tone Tulip Mixture No.1
T1713
Description
This harmonious mix of tulips includes crystal-white tulip ‘White Proud’ and maroon-black tulip 'Queen of Night'. A perfectly paired duo to add style and sophistication to late spring flower borders and containers.
The large goblet-shaped flowers bloom on long strong stems, standing up to wind and rain and are excellent for picking and adding to bouquets and arrangements.
Plant with soft blues such as camassias or forget-me-nots for a fresh carpet of spring delights.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
