Super Parrot Tulip
T1634
Description
Parrot Tulip ‘Super Parrot’ produces large white petals dramatically streaked with bold green markings, the feathered blooms curving and twisting like exotic wings in the spring garden. Opening fully through April and May, the striking flowers of tulip ‘Super Parrot’ bring sculptural texture and calm, elegant colour to borders, containers, and feature planting schemes.
Ideal for contemporary or minimalist gardens, this distinctive variety thrives in bright positions with well-drained soil, where its unusual form and dramatic detailing can be fully appreciated.
Care Guide
October to November are the optimum months for planting Tulip bulbs. The cooler late-autumn temperatures help to keep disease at bay, whilst still allowing time for your bulbs to put roots down before spring.
Any well-drained, fertile soil is perfect for Tulips, ideally in full sun or part shade. Plant the bulbs 10-20 cm deep, spaced 10-20 cm apart. A piece of chicken wire or mesh can be placed on top of the soil or pots after planting if squirrels or rodents are a problem in your area.
After flowering in March to May, remove withered stems, foliage and any fallen petals to promote good plant health and apply a top dressing of high-potash fertiliser in late winter.
