Show-stopping Allium ‘Giganteum’ forms impressively large heads of violet flowers which bloom during June. This wonderful variety adds instant wow-factor when the blooms burst forth on ramrod straight stems, over a metre tall in the border.
The bulbs are excellent for naturalising in a sweeping mixed border, particularly effective when punctuating the zesty green foliage of Hostas, Euphorbia, Ferns and grasses with their vivid purple full stops.
Alliums are a gardeners favourite for unrivalled drama, structure and colour in the garden which announces the beginning of summer. Adored by pollinators, the nectar-rich blooms can be left on stems to fade, adding winter texture and interest.
