Galanthus nivalis ‘Viridapice’ is a vigorous and distinctive snowdrop producing elegant white pendant flowers with beautifully marked green-tipped petals. Flowering through January and February, the gently fragrant blooms of Snowdrop nivalis ‘Viridapice’ appear on stems up to 15cm tall, bringing welcome colour and movement to the winter garden as spring begins to approach.
This relatively rare variety is especially valued for its striking markings and reliable garden performance, earning it the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. Thriving in sun or light shade with moderately moist, fertile, well-drained soil, Galanthus nivalis ‘Viridapice’ is ideal for naturalising beneath trees, through woodland borders, or in drifts across lawns where it will gradually establish into beautiful colonies over time.
They prefer moist humus-rich soil.
Plant 8-10 cm deep, 8-10 cm apart. Plant in clumps 8 cm deep in shade or semi-shade.
Do not disturb until you want to split the clumps, which is best done when the foliage is still lush.
